The ICD-10 code for actinic keratosis (L57.0) is the same as benign keratosis NOS (L57.0). If the path report reads benign keratosis and we bill a 11400 excision of benign lesion, is Medicare going to deny because L57.0 reads actinic keratosis (AKA pre-malignant lesion)? :confused:
 
There should be no problem with Medicare since that is the most appropriate and accurate code per ICD10.
