patient has labs done...do we bill an e/m code? ONLY LABS

Has all of the criteria been met to warrant an E/M or why are you inclined to code an E/M?

It sounds as if maybe the patient had labs completed which were ordered by an outside physician or has a standing order for labs to be completed. If this is the case... No, you would not code an E/M.

This is the most accurate answer I can give without more information.
