Wiki Lab test billing question

It has been brought up that a lab test done with a TSH, T-3 and T-4 can not be billable on the same day. Could someone explain to me if this is correct information and if so why?

A free T3 and total T3 cannot be billed together. The free T3 is the more extensive procedure, so I need to remove the total T3 charge. Otherwise, I'm not aware of other tests that can't be billed with TSH, T3, and T4.

BCBS will not pay for TSH, T-3, and T-4 on the same day. Their policy changed 05/2023 when they switched over to AVALON.
