Hello,
My surgeon had a case that the patient had laminectomies to remove intraspinal extradural phlegmon and pus at all levels. He would like me to bill 63265, 63266 and 63267 levels are C6-C7, C7-T1, T1-T2, T8-T9, L3, L4, L5 and S1. If it is through 1 incision, can we bill all the levels or do we only bill the levels with the most work? Thank you for your help

If the non-neoplasm crosses into a different junction, use 1 code dependent on where majority of the work is done If half and half, use code with the higher RVU. There are no additional segment or interspace codes in that series. One code includes any number of levels of contiguous laminectomies required to remove/evacuate the pathology.
