My physician wants this type of hernia repair coded open. How are other pediatric practices billing for this type of hernia repair? An umbilical port is placed, and the needle/thread is fed into the inguinal area via a tiny incision, visualized, grasped, hernia looped off, port removed, skin closed with glue.
