Hello all. I am stumped on this lap procedure so I am requesting advice on what the best code should be.
DX: Hinchey grade 2-3 diverticulitis, multiple abscess, dense adhesions
Procedure: Laparoscopic washout of the abdomen, lysis of adhesions, drainage of 3 abscesses, excision of epiploic appendage.
The op report is quite lengthy so I will not type it out but he did exactly what he describes. My first thought was to use 49329 but then wasn't sure what reference code to use. My second thought was to use 49322-22 but it just doesn't seem right for as much work as the physician did. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
