We have a physician who performs the above. We have been coding as unlisted as there is no CPT for laparoscopic simple prostatectomy and the following link indicates the AUA recommends unlisted as of April 2019:

The physician referenced an older link that states using 55821 or 55831 is ok. I believe this was based on a Coding Alert from 2016

Is anyone aware of guidance more recent than April 2019 as to how to code these procedures?

I would suggest the following coding for your clinical scenario: unlisted code 55899 snd bench mark to 55821 or 55831. Do not use the latter codes for the laparoscopic procedure as this coding alert has since been reversed by the AUA and CPT.
