Hello fellows,

I just want to get your idea here. If the surgeon performed a lap treatment for ectopic pregnancy w/ salpingectomy 59151 and diagnostic laparoscopy 49320. Are these codes component of each other? CCI edits doesnt include this as components but per cpt book, SURGICAL LAPAROSCOPY ALWAYS INCLUDES DIAGNOSTIC LAPAROSCOPY. What do you think. Can I bill for both procedures?

Diag Lap

You can only bill a diag lap when that is all the doc does! In this case he actually did more than a diagnostic "look see" you cannot bill the diag lap sorry!
