laser treatment

My doctors are considering buying a laser to use for nail fungus treatment. Is anyone using this in their office? Does anyone know of this being covered by any insurance? I'm assuming not by MCR. I didn't find anything about it on their website.

Laser is not a covered benefit at this time. Our physicians use the laser in conjunction with other treatment options such as matrixectomy.

Our patients can pay for a laser package out of pocket because at this time we have found that zero insurance companies will reimburse for it.

I'm wondering what CPT code are you using for this laser treatment? If you are taking cash for these treatments, how much are you charging? Lastly, are you presenting an ABN/waiver before services are rendered?

there is no cpt code which is why are are charging cash! Since is it not statutorily covered by medicare then no abn needed!

Class iv laser

I have used the class iv laser to treat nail fungus. While it is a lengthy process it definitely does work. We always took before and after pics to show the progress. We also charged cash since no code was available.
