I am looking for the rules to clarify billing all materials injected during a procedure (20600-20610) i.e "Provider injects 1 mL lidocaine superolateral portal after cold spray is utilized, then 1 mL of dexamethasone, 4mL of lidocaine and 4 mL of marcaine are placed in the joint of the right knee". Normally the numbing agent used, in this case 1 mL lidocaine injected superolaterally would not be paid, but what about the additional 8 mL of medication used internally?
