I am in the process of taking a review class for CPC. The issue I am having is a lot of positions want someone experiencing using Excel. My ability is limited. What can I do to learn Excel to feel confident using it on a job?

There are a couple of different ways to get additional experience on Excel:

- Online Tutorials (do a web search)
- Books (Excel for Dummies, etc)
- Community College. A lot of community or junior colleges will offer weekend or 2-3 day workshops for learning excel. This is a good way to get hands on experience and have a source for questions.
- Purchased CD/DVD with Excel Instruction

Generally you do not need to get super fancy to be proficient with Excel. Often time a moderate understanding will be enough to get in the door. Most offices will provide additional training on how they use Excel to suit the needs of their office. Spreadsheets, graphs, general calculations, and formatting are the general needs.
