ICD-10 coding for Left and Right sacral ala (Zone 1) fractures - code book only states S32.110(7th) with no side. Do I code twice or just once?

This code doesn't have a laterality option, so you would code it once. You would never report the same exact code more than once on a claim.

They refer to left and right with the sacrum however, in coding the sacrum is not considered a paired organ/structure that's why there is only one code. It's considered a single structure. Not like bones of the legs, arms, etc. (e.g.; you have LT/RT options for the femur, humerus, radius, tibia.)
