Patient is presenting for vaginal discharge (deemed normal discharge) and is also 9 weeks pregnant on u/s.

Per my understanding, I CAN bill the e/m with the ob u/s, but will there be a modifier necessary to submit the claim?

I appreciate all the help from my coding peeps!!!

Yes you can bill the E&M with the ultrasound. The only insurance company that has been requiring a 25 modifier for E&Ms on the same day as an ultrasound for us is United Health Care [and their related plans: UMR, Golden Rule, Medica, etc.].

Thank you! this was a BC plan, so I did not add the modifier. :)
