I recently got my CPC-A and am actively looking for a remote position. I applied to Atlantic Health System through LinkedIn for one of their billing positions. I got an email back the same day asking me to participate in an email interview by a edward@cruminvestigationsllc.com saying he was a part of the recruitment team. I filled out the PDF file and emailed it back, then within a couple minutes was told that I was hired with pay starting out at $50 an hour for training then $65 an hour after training is done. At this point I was becoming super suspicious! I had not had a professional interview even virtually with them at all and I'm just hired?! Then they started asking for personal information such as SSN, driver's license and bank information for direct deposit. This normally is not alarming when being hired as I understand these are the processes that take place when getting a new job but like I said all of this took place in a matter of just a few hours. Also again, I have no seen or talked with anyone other than these emails and normally when having to fill out SSN and private information this is done with HR through a protected site, not just a reply back via email.

I went back to linked in to report the job and see if anyone else had reported it because I saw that other people had applied when I applied. When I went back the job posting was removed and when I tried to search the hiring person name, his account was deleted as well which just confirmed my suspicions. I updated all my antivirus protection on my computer and phone because I did open the PDF file but thankfully nothing was detected / downloaded. I filled out a scam report through the federal website as well.

Just wanted everyone else to be aware! I have seen a few other employment scams people have posted on here as well, just be careful out there everyone!
