I am confused. Do we do lipoma's the same as lesions when it comes to measurements? I appreciate anyone that can answer my question? I think I should do as lesions. The new tumor codes are confusing me.

From what I understand....
the deepest layer of resection determines the correct coding....

Example:
tumor 4.5cm but requires a resection 7cm of tissue.

Also see pg 86 in CPT book
 
I appreciate the info... I didn't think to see the notes at the beginning of the musculosckeletal system. I made it more difficult than it should have been.
