Per encoder for liver transplant CPT code 47135 the donor bile duct is approximated to the recipient bile duct or to a limb of small bowel for drainage. I found information from 2009 stating that if roux-en-Y choldedochojejunostomy is performed to bill additional code 47780 or 47785. I am under the assumption that roux-en-Y is included in transplant code 47135. Also prior to anastomosis the portal vein was occluded with thrombus. Can we code for a portal vein thrombectomy? Please advise. Thank you.
