Physician documents "OA Knee"

He didn't use the exact word "localized" but did say it was the knee - so would this be coded to 715.96 or 715.36?

If you look at code 715.9X, the description states "unspecified whether generalized or localized". Since the doctor did not specify either way, you would use this code, 715.96, for OA of the knee.
