For billing locum providers, is it fine to bill under the W2 provider or does it need to be done a different way? I dont believe I can use a Q6 modifier for locum since the midlevel is out of the office
 
Hi there, if you're asking whether you can bill locum tenens for a NPP - you can't (with an exception for PTs in rural areas non-metropolitan statistical areas, medically underserved areas (MUAs), and health professions shortage areas).

Only if it is a physical therapist (PT) standing in for another PT. It is still not allowed for any other type of NPP, unfortunately.
