Good Morning
We have a locum tenen for the next 60 days and although I know how the billing is done, I have a question about which name should appear on the registration side
If we register the acct with the locum's name then the claim will populate with his name and not our regular physician.

Is it ok to register the account under our regular physician even though all documentation is done by the locum?

Thank you

By "register", do you mean put it into your EMR/practice management system? Your LT is not a regular practice physician and no patients would be registered under their name.

Yes
So even though the orders are from the Locum, we would register in our EMR system as our staff physician, correct?

Yes. The patient's will still be scheduled under the staff physician who is out, the LT will see/treat the patients as well as document the visit. The only change will be adding the -Q6 modifier so everyone knows that the services were provided by a LT.

If a Locum is covering for our cardiologist and this locum does a procedure in the hospital, does the Q6 modifier go on the UB-04 claim as well?
