We have a physician coming in to help out 1x month because we have lost a physician in our group and another one is leaving soon. I need guidance on billing for this temporary physician. He is being credentialed so can I bill under his NPI? If so, do I need to add the modifier Q6. If I can't bill directly under him, do I use the physician that has left our practice's NPI?
