Hello, we have a provider who worked weekends and is no longer with the practice. We have a sister company that bills under a different NPI and TIN that will be covering while the work to obtain a new weekend provider. The provider who left is no longer credentialed so we cannot report locum under her NPI. We have multiple providers who see patients at the clinic during the week, are we able to bill under one of those providers with the Q6 modifier or should we report as reciprocal with a Q5 under the NPI of the provider who sees patients during the week but the patient is actually being seen by the provider covering from the other practice? What would be most appropriate since the provide who left is no longer credentialed and we have no other provider available to cover weekends and are needing to use a provider from our sister practice?
