Will you please confirm the following information for my physicians?

In order to properly bill codes 95719-95720, the physician must generate the report, sign the report and timestamp the report before the end of the 26 hour recording window, correct? The physician is not able to sign the daily report, for example 27 or 28 hours after the recording is initiated. They are questioning my previous explanation of the documentation requirements.

Thanks

No, I don't think that is correct. Practices may have internal guidelines about when a physician must complete their document and sign their reports, but there is no coding guideline that requires a specific time frame. In any case, a physician cannot complete a report before the test itself is completed, so it would not make any sense in this example for a physician to have to do their documentation and sign it before the recording has even been completed. The code description for 95719-95720, states 'interpretation and report after each 24-hour period', but does not say the report must be completed within 26 hours.
