Hello:
I am looking for a code that I can use to to bill an insurance for the distribution of a vaccine. (Not administering a vaccine).
Background:
I am from a Family Medicine office. We have a pediatric patient who is in need of the Pentacel Vaccine only, for the allergy testing that needs to be done at the patient's specialist office.
Is there a way to bill the patient's insurance for suppling the patient with the vaccine vial (unopened/new).
Local pharmacist states that due to the patient's age (1 year) they (the pharmacy) and insurance will not cover the vaccine.
Anyone come across this?
Due to cost, we are trying to avoid the purchasing of the 1 vaccine. Any information is greatly appreciated!
