It has been a year for me since i passed my cpc exam and i am still looking for an opportunity to find my first job in the medical coding career it could be a entry level position and i would be happy with that, being in the healthcare field for over 10 years you would think i could find something entry level. If anyone know any places hiring CPC-A or similar jobs please share.

I am not sure what type of coding you are looking to do, but I know that having a LinkedIn account, I see multiple job postings, follow any and everyone, especially recruiters in order to view their postings on your feed. You can also choose the option that you are looking for work and recruiters will reach out to you privately. I do risk adjustment coding and the Facebook group 'HCC/Risk Adjustment Coders --USA ONLY' also has job postings often, sometimes specifically for CPC-A's. Having a good resume and attending your local chapter meetings (for networking) are also important. Good luck on your journey, I started in 2014 and have never regretted it.

Within the past few months, I saw a post shared on LinkedIn from a hiring manager looking for entry-level coders that resided in Illinois or Wisconsin. I posted a link to it here in this group - let me see if I can find it.

Although the position may have already been filled, you could continue to keep an eye out on the company's website as new positions are posted.

Found it! Here's what I posted in the other thread. It looks like the post is no longer accepting applications, which makes sense because it has been over a month since I posted it here.

However, I'd keep an eye out on that health system's website for similar titles. If they were hiring entry level coders who lived in Wisconsin then, they may have future entry level positions as well.

Additionally, I saw and shared this position last week on LinkedIn after seeing the hiring manager post "I have a few entry level coding roles! We will train and pay for your credentials! Come join my fabulous team! You must live in IL, WI or IN."

Here's the link for that job:

Here is the same problem for me. I finished the CPC test and the Practicode in two months and removed my "A" from my CPC. The AAPC provided me with two years of experience, I was very confident to get at least an entry-level position. But it's so depressing that no one is considering that as an experience. I am still hunting for a job. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I am in a similar situation. Been applying since passing my CPC test for entry level postions and still getting declined for all of them. I currently work in the healthcare field as an office coordinator but cannot seem to transition to a coding career. I was going to do practicode but now that you are having issues with no one considering it as experience, I may hold off.
