I have graduated from a medical coding and billing school and am seeking employment or an externship that will allow me to gain the necessary experience I need. I just took the CPC this past Saturday so I am waiting on my results. However, I have taken and passed the ICD-10-CM proficiency exam offered by AAPC. I also have the MAAC and BCSC certifications. I currently reside in the Macon / Warner Robins, GA, area.

I was in the same scenario a year ago. Best advice, is to get out there in person with your resume and knock on doors. AAPC has a list of sites in your area that provide x-ternship. Start there, but don't limit yourself to those alone. Find an area or specialty clinic where you want to work and ask if they'd be willing to provide an x-ternship.
