OBJECTIVE: REMOTE MEDICAL CODING
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATION:
In 2001-2002 I had the opportunity to change my profession, and choose Medical Billing and Coding. I was lucky enough to gain employment at Orthopedic Associates , and spent the next 14 years learning the Ins and Outs of Orthopedics. I started as an entry level check-out person , in 2007 I acquired my CPC, then in 2015 I passed the ICD-10 proficiency exam. I completed my career as an Orthopedic Coding and Billing Specialists. I chose to leave Orthopedic Associates to pursue my Specialty Certificate in Orthopedics, and employment at Tier Orthopedics allowed me this. Recently passed my COSC on Sept 17,2016 in Johnson City, NY.

Daily Office Charge Coder
Extract accurate codes from daily dictation which includes: E/M, X-RAY, ,Multiple Injections performed, and fracture care.
Accurate posting of these codes to multiple insurance companies as per guidelines defined by said insurance companies.
Maintain a good working relationships with both fellow employees , and Clinical staff including Physicians
Ability to use the Internet in search of Insurance Guidelines;
Currently using MEDENT Billing and Reimbursement Software;

Appeal Letters when necessary
Placed calls to Patients for collections, insurance coverage, and general billing questions
Verified Insurance Coverage and Placed procedure codes on Surgery Requests
Responsible to code Inpatient, Outpatient and ER reports, Daily office visits and procedures performed
Posting of these codes to Insurance co applying guideline
