If a lesion is excised that is marked with a radiological marker it is 19125. BUT if the doctor does pay attention to margins and go and take more out at the margins, is it correct to then use 19301 even though it is labeled wire-guided lumpectomy? 19125 sounds more biopsy-ish and 19301 more clearly describes attention to margins, which this had even though the specimen was taken out with the wire. I get stuck with thinking I must report the wire technique. I need to see another view! Thanks.

If it is malig, then I go with 19301, because we are concerned with margins, even though a needle loc wire was placed. If it is microcalifications and she doesn't actually mention margin details, go with 19125 code.
