Hello, I need some advice. Is anyone doing lung cancer screening assessments? These would be for patients who meet the screening qualifications based on age and smoking history. I'm thinking the CPT code would be based on time using the range of 99401 - 99404, does that sound correct? It doesn't look like Medicare would pay for these codes and we would need a signed ABN. Has anyone had expereience with billing these codes? Do commercial insurances pay for these? Any help is appreciated!

Medicare CT lung cancer screening

Does anyone know how Medicare wants us to bill these new screening CT's? I coded one with CPT 71250 with the DX of V76.0 and then the findings and Medicare deined the ticket. Medicare will not accept the new S8032 code that some of our commerical payers use. Does anyone have any suggestions about this one?
