Dr has removed lesion, coded as 11402 LT 448.1 (path came back as 216.7)

Do I code to insurance 11402 LT 448.11, 216.7
M8832/0 216.7

Please suggest as I am fairly new to coding and haven't added M codes,

I am not sure why you have used the 448.1 code but you would never use the M codes on a claim those are for cancer registry use. If an excision was performed and path states it is benign then you append only the path dx code.

Thank you so much for your help... The dr uses the 448.1 as a diag, I am now holding claims till path results come back then code, just had never ran across the one that had the M-code.
Thank you again,
Tanya
