Hello,
If some one could help me, I coded 20611 with 17.11 (Rt knee) and 20611 M25.512 (Lt Shoulder) Provided performed both on the same visit.

20611 RT M17.11 next line 20611, XS, Lt w/ M25.512 Medicare denied saying that It has to be on one line. Would I bill it as one line, 20611, 50 M25.512 and M17.11? that doesn't make sense to me
any suggestions?

50 modifier is to indicate bilateral
you would still need to bill 2 lines use the 51 modifier on the second injection to indicate multiple procedures sometimes I have also seen Medicare want the XU modifier instead of the XS or 51.

I second the 20611-50, 1 unit. It makes no sense because its not technically B/L but after speaking to a rep it's the only way they will process it now.
