Our facility has a Breast Center and we do Mammograms & Ultrasounds and other related procedures. My question is, when a patient comes in for a Mammogram and the Order from the physician is for a Screening Mammogram for the Right Breast and a Diagnostic Mammo for the Left, how should that be coded?? Our policy is to code for a Bilateral Diagnostic Mammogram however I would like to know where I can find documentation on this policy and if this is correct. Thanks for any help you can give.
