Just wondering - When coding mastectomy if the doctor
also performs sentinel lymph node bxs they are included
in the mastectomy code correct? Thank you for any input
on this.

I think if it's a partial mastectomy 19301, you can bill the SN bx with code
38525, if the doctor injects the sentinel node with dye for indentification, you can also bill 38752-51. Not sure on the total mastectomy, depends on the code , but 19305-307 all include the lymph nodes, so I dont think you can. Just my thoughts, hope it helps.
