I have a breast surgeon who performed a lumpectomy and a sentinel node biopsy. After performing the lumpectomy, the medial margin seemed to be somewhat close so he re-excised. He removed 7cm x 2 cm of skin. The wound seemed to be somewhat difficult to close at the deep side, so he did a mastopexy closure. I'm not sure if it would be appropriate to use the mastopexy code (19316). His dictation states that he mobilized the underlying breast tissue off of the pectoralis muscle for about 3 cm in every direction and was then able to bring the deep tissues back together. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
