I am abstracting charts for a cardiology group who are doing EKG's with most of their office visits. We then bill for the office visit along with the EKG. Would the physician get extra MDM credit for the office service Under the amount and/or complexity of Data to be reviewed for both review and ordering the test from the medicine section and also give them credit for Independent visualization of image, tracing or specimen itself (not simply review of a report)?

When you actually billing for the test, you cannot give credit under "independent visualization". If the MD ordered it to be done or reviewed the report done by someone else in the office, s/he can get credit for review a report; but not the actual visualization 2 point credit.
