A mechanical pleurodesis was performed along with thoracoscopic upper and lower lobe wedge resections (32666 and 32667).
The procedure note states: Is this enough to code for the mechanical pleurodesis also?
An incision was created at the seventh intercostal space at the posterior axillary line. Camera was inserted. Anterior worker was placed under direct visualization. The apex of the left upper lobe was grasped, small amount of scarring was identified. This area was removed with a stapler fire. In a similar fashion the superior segment lower lobe was also removed. Intercostal nerve blocks were completed. The inferior pulmonary ligament was taken up to the level of the inferior pulmonary vein. The diaphragm was explored. No defects identified. No signs of implantation.
Mechanical pleurodesis was completed.
