i am new to obgyn and reviewing claims already billed. can someone clarify how you would code for Medicaid patients that we do ante partum, delivery and postpartum care? From what I have seen we have to bill all services separate versus bundled for commercial payers... is this correct?

If you provide global maternity, it is up to the carrier whether to bill as global or split.
Each state Medicaid has their own policy. From what I have seen, most Medicaid plans do want split billing. They should have a provider manual specifying their policy.
Similarly, each commercial carrier will also have a policy regarding how they cover and pay for maternity care.
There will also be situations where a carrier does accept or require global billing, but you do not provide global maternity and must split bill.
