Hello,

We are a family planning specialty. Hope I could get a clarification on the MDM risk when provider prescribes a morning after pill (1 tablet). Is this considered as prescription management? Is truly managed when it is considered an emergency contraceptive and not for recurrent use? And, lastly, is it The only documentation provider included is for the patient to Start Ella tablet, 30 mg, 1 tab(s), PO, once, 1 day(s), 1 Each, Refills 0.

Sample documentation:

CC:
Pt presents for STI retest
Treated for CT 10/2022
denies symptoms and known re-exposures
no concerns.

Assessment:
  • Encounter for surveillance of other contraceptives - Z30.49 (Primary)
  • Encounter for screening for other infectious and parasitic diseases - Z11.8
  • Encounter for screening for infections with predominantly sexual mode of transmission - Z11.3
  • Encounter for screening for human immunodeficiency virus [HIV] - Z11.4

Thank you so much for any insights shared!
