I'm struggling to understand more of the medical decision making portion of an E/M visit. For example, how do I know if the illness is complicated or not complicated if the provider doesn't say the word complicated? Is a minor surgery a procedure with the global days 10 or under- and major, 90 days? And the management options confusion me as well- how do I know if there are identified risk factors? Please let me know if there are any articles or tools I can follow that give more in depth descriptions. Thank you!
