I am a little confused on which diagnosis to select when the physician doesn't specify whether it is posterior medial meniscus tear or anterior medial meniscus tear but it is specified as a tear? Any suggestions??:confused:
 
It may also be a "7" code if the tear is not injury related or is chronic. 717.5 = old meniscus tear NEC
