Hi,
I work with multiple Home Health Care agencies. We mainly specialize in Commercial carriers, but have recently obtained Medicare accreditation. A large amount of our business is specialty wound care patients. I have a couple questions and would love some feedback from the AAPC Community! Also, if anyone has any references for their responses, please provide a link!
- Do we have an obligation to provide all covered wound care supplies for all patients?
- Do we have an obligation to provide all non-covered wound care supplies?
- If supplies are not covered can we either setup the patient with DME or insist the patient does so independently?
My main goal is to find out if we are obligated to provide specialty supplies for patients that do not have supply benefits covered under their Coordinated Home Care Benefit. Thank you for your assistance in advance!
