Help! Has anyone been able to get payment from Medicare or an Advantage plan for cpt 70030 with dx of Z13.5 (Encounter for screening for eye or ear disorder). Patient received this service prior to MRI. TIA!
A screening is a preventive service and only a limited number of services are covered by Medicare as preventive benefits - this is not one of them. I imagine this is probably either documented or coded incorrectly. Providers do not routinely screen patients for eye diseases with this test.
