I am wondering how well Medicare covers mental health codes. Specifically the psych evaluations, individual out pt psychotherapy, family and group therapy. Do you have problems using 311 dx or mood disorder 296.90? What about dementia codes with depression? Do they get denied a lot?

I am new to coding mental health and trying to do tons of research. From what I have read it is kinda a trial and error.
