Can anyone shed some light on the correct POS for esophageal motilites? I recently started at a new job that owns their own equipment and ASC. These are typically placed in a separate room within the ASC that is not used for anything other than placing motilities or pH monitors in patients. Because these procedures are not on the ASC covered procedures list, they have coded them as POS office and billed globally. The physician does the reading from the office. The office and the ASC are located on the same floor of the building. Is this correct? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

No! If the procedures are perform within the confines of the space designated for the ASC then they must be billed as that pos or moved to a different location.
