We are having a deabte in our office, would appreciate any and all feedback.
Pt has Aetna prime and Medicare 2ndry. A/R brought me the denied claim from Medicare and asked that i change the DX codes to get Medicare to pay after prime already paid. Coding supervisor said its ok to do change order of DX. I spoke to the office supervisor, she says absolutely not, as it becomes a compliance issue.
As a CPC i refused to make the changes requested. Any thoughts?
