We have been receiving denials for CPT code 81002 and G0328 from Medicare. CPT 81002 is a CLIA waived test that does not require the QW modifier. I have just read that the IFOBT, G0328 does require the QW and will be appending that in the future. How should the 81002 be billed to Medicare? We were not having any reimbursement issues prior to a few months ago. I would appreciate any information you may have. Thank you.
