Hi all,

I have the following on a bill:

99397 prev visit est 65 & over
99420 health risk assessment visit
99173 visul acuity screen
36415 venipuncture

The patient has Horizon Bluecard and is inquiring as to whether 99420 and 99173 should have been billed since they are non-covered services per insurance and are pt. responsibility. Should they have been billed in addition to the 99397?

Per EncoderPro, no mods are needed and there are not bundled in any way.
 
99173 is included in a physical. 99420 can be coded if a PSQ9 was completed and documented. -25 would go on the physical.
I don't think they should have been billed
