The following are notes taken at a seminar regarding Medicare Telehealth requirements.
• Time-based coding. E/M codes w/ GT and 02 Modifiers
o GT- Asynchronous code- 02- Place of Service
• Patient must present at an originating site w/patient presenter
o Hospitals
o Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs)
o Rural Health Clinics
o Federally Qualified Health Centers
o Hospital-based or CAH-based Renal
o Dialysis Centers (including satellites)
o Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs)
o Community Mental Health Centers
• Must live in a rural health professional shortage area
What's not defined is, who can be a patient presenter?
