Good Afternoon Forum

We are having a debate in the office as to billing Medicare. If the primary pays more or the same as Medicare allowable do we have to bill Medicare or can the balance be written off since we know the out come?

Thank you in advance for your help with this matter.
 
you should still bill medicare so that they have a record of the claim being filed.
if by chance the primary comes back and takes the money back because there was a change in the coordination of benefits, medicare will pay as they have processed the claim initially as a secondary. Once the COB process is complete you wont have to fight medicare nearly as hard to get them to pay as the primary payer...
