Question...

Can a doc bill for time spent do med refills and changing medication orders via phone? (non medicare)

I have an MD and a psychiatrist who are on call for a substance abuse facility (detox, IOP, RTC, PHP) They bill for the initial visit (90792 or 99223), but nothing for the constant follow ups with the patient or caregiver.

Can they bill H2010?

The provider reports this code for each 15 minutes that he renders comprehensive medication services to a patient. Comprehensive medication services aim to improve medication use, reduce the risk of adverse events, and improve medication adherence.
