Good morning,

Can anyone help me with cpt and icd-9 codes for removal of broken meniscal arrow? The arrow had broken and entered into the subcutaneous tissue. An incision was made directly over the arrow and the arrow was identified and excised. That is all his report states. 10120? Would I use foreign body ICD-9? I don't know why I am having such an issue with this!! Thank you for your help!

Since the arrow was in the subcutaneous tissue and it was removed through an incision, I'd code 10120. I'd also code 729.6 V90.2 for the arrow since 10120 is removal of a foreign body.
